Almuerzos

Hot Lunch

A range of healthy, fresh nutritious meals are available for Key Stage 2 (Years 3 – 6) children.  Children who let us know they are having a hot lunch on that day will be taken across to JCG for their lunch at midday. We will also take any child who has forgotten their packed lunch from home.

School-Packed Lunch

These are available for all pupils to pre-order through our online portal/app (Fusion).

Children are also welcome to bring a home-packed lunch as an alternative option.

We have introduced a fresh, healthy and nutritious menu and last year we launched a new cashless payment system in partnership with CRB Cunninghams and iPayimpact, aimed at enhancing convenience, security, and efficiency within our College's catering services. The same system will also be used to collect payments for trips etc. when appropriate.

Choice

Key Stage 2 children only

We are committed to providing the best possible experience for all our pupils. Our Key Stage 2 children make their own meal choices, at the point of service. Our staff are on hand to help children make their choice, taking any allergies/food intolerances into account.

Our current rotating three-week menu for Key Stage 2 children only is available below for your information. We encourage parents to share this with their children, especially in the first few weeks of the new school year, until they become more familiar with the options. Each day the choices are available for children to see whilst they wait their turn to be served.

Once your child has selected their main meal and a drink, they will then sit down with their friends in the Dome to enjoy their lunch before returning to the servery to collect their dessert.

All children

We offer a school-packed lunch service for our Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children. Parents are asked to pre-order our improved packed lunch offering via the Fusion online portal/mobile app. Orders need to be placed no later than 8 pm the night before.

Children have a choice of sandwich, dessert, fruit and drink. The choices may be changed, depending on uptake and feedback. Please email our Head Chef, Karly Jouny K.Jouny@jcg.sch.je or Catering Manager, June Fosse J.Fosse@jcg.sch.je with any feedback.

Payment of School Meals

Our online payment system is powered by iPayimpact (iPay), a secure online payment platform. Parents will have access to an online portal and a mobile app, enabling them to manage their accounts conveniently. Through the portal, you can top up your child's account, monitor their meal habits, and view transaction history. This feature will provide you with valuable insights into your child's dietary choices and help promote healthy eating habits.

Account set up instructions along with unique onboarding codes will have been sent to parents previously.   If you no longer have your onboarding code please contact finance@jcp.sch.je for this. Account set up instructions are below.

Parents are encouraged to ensure their child’s account has sufficient credit for at least the week ahead (£20 for a five-day week). As your child makes their choice and collects their meal, the £4 daily lunch charge will be deducted from their account.

Enhanced convenience & Parental control

  • Parents will no longer need to pre-order hot lunches and pay for their child’s lunches in advance.
  • Parents will receive an automated message/email when their child’s account balance gets low, acting as a polite reminder to please top-up the account.
  • Parents will still have the flexibility of requesting a school meal or sending their child with a packed lunch from home.
  • Parents will have the ability to monitor their child's choices and help them make informed decisions regarding their dietary options.
  • Parents will only be charged for their child’s daily meal if they are present at lunchtime. This includes those who chose the school-packed lunch option, if we are informed of their absence by 9 am on the day.

Facial Recognition Technology

As part of our commitment to deliver this improved catering service, last year we introduced the use of facial recognition to access your child’s school meal account. This system streamlines the cafeteria experience, enhances security, and expedites payment processes for all our pupils and staff. The system is highly recommended and is used by a large number of schools across the UK. All data is stored on our server within the College.

For more information about this technology, please click here.
